Goal setting
Goal setting ensures intervention is targeted, meaningful and relevant to the family and their child. Your choice of a goal setting tool will primarily depend on the following:
- Do you set goals individually or as a team? Depending on how your team is structured, goal setting as a team can help to clarify each professions role and reinforce the unique contribution OT can have.
- Is the goal being set for the family? Goals should always be family centred and recognise the parent as the expert on their child.
- Is the goal being set for research?
