Development of play skills
Play is one of the major occupations of infancy. Play teaches a child about the world around them including the interactions between objects and people and space. Play is the occupation in which developmental skills across social, emotional, visual, motor and cognition integrate and are built.
Major progressions in a child’s fine motor and thinking (cognition) skills will be seen through changes and progression in the infants play skills (and subsequent changes in play sequences, themes, repertoire and exploration).
