Delayed trajectory example: Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome)

Infants with Trisomy 21 (Down Syndrome) experience delays across a number of areas. Relative strengths in visual and social skills are frequently described. However, skills continue to progress at a slower rate than peers, especially in motor and language domains.

The Down Syndrome Medical Interest Group website is a good source of information, their Information & Resources webpage provides a detailed guide to expected development for children with Down Syndrome. See the resources section for information.
