Welcome to Module 13 of the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Infants Course: Parental roles.
This module will identify parental roles in infant care and explore how occupational therapy can support the caregiver in these roles.
Learning objective
This module aims to provide an understanding of
- the importance of supporting engagement and participation in parent roles
- the contribution of goodness of fit to the infant’s development.

Following completion of this module the learner should be able to recall:
- roles of the parent relating to interaction, attachment and nurturing
- implications for intervention.
