Welcome to Module 11 of the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Infants Course: Sleep.

This module will provide an overview of sleep as an occupation of infancy. Knowledge and understanding of the factors contributing to, and frequent concerns about sleep will be covered. Important infant practice concepts and examples are also included.

Learning objective

This module aims to provide an understanding of:

  • sleep as an occupation of infancy
  • the role of occupational therapy in addressing sleep concerns
  • intervention options to encourage successful sleep routines.

Learning outcomes

Following completion of this module the learner should be able to recall:

  • strategies of self-regulation and their application to sleep environments
  • appropriate sleep resources to support sleep routines.
