Welcome to Module 13 of the Paediatric Occupational Therapy Burns Course: Return to childhood occupations.
This module outlines the impact a burn and the required burns interventions can have on a child's engagement in meaningful and required productivity activities. It will highlight the aim of occupational therapy intervention, indicators for intervention and resources to support therapy interventions. This module aims to provide an understanding of the challenges involved in returning to daily life after a burn, and how to assist in this transition.
Learning outcomes
Following completion of this module the learner should be able to recall:
- factors that might impact return to normal childhood occupations after a burn
- what options can be used to maximise a child’s participation and ensure successful return to normal routines.
