Indicators for intervention
The following are indicators that occupational therapy intervention should take place:
- Child/family expressing concerns about how the child will manage/cope at school.
- Education provider expressing concerns over care requirements needed for child or the child has specific therapy commitments or activity restrictions required at school/daycare (i.e. splinting, garments).
- School refusal from child.
- Reported disruptive or regressed behavior in school/daycare (with regards to itch, toileting, appetite, playtimes, sleep routine).
