The content in this course has been developed for Occupational Therapy undergraduate and graduate learners new to the area of Burns and is based on the available evidence relating to paediatric burns at the time of writing.  The content reflects clinical practice trends within Children’s Health Queensland, however the author acknowledges that Occupational Therapy practice may vary across clinical sites; and that research, evidence and interventions used in burns will continue to evolve over time and influence practice guidelines within paediatric occupational therapy.

Finally, Jessica would like to thank the LCCH Pegg Leditschke Children’s Burns Centre (PLCBC) and the families and children who receive treatment for their burn at this facility and have kindly allowed their photographs and images to be included in the eLearning course.
