Audio visual
Audio visual, or AV, captures, stores and retrieves the visual and audio aspects of simulation. These recordings can be used by facilitators when exploring critical events and in highlighting exemplary behavior.
Review and feedback
Capturing footage of simulation enables participants to review and reflect on their performance during feedback sessions. AV equipment enables learners to remotely view simulations, allowing participants not directly involved an opportunity to be included.
Immersion
AV can be used to assist in creating immersion by adding additional realistic sounds and lights. For example background sound in a ward, reduced light in an evacuation setting and patient vital signs.
