Sensemaking

Topic Progress:

Sensemaking involves gathering information, gaining an understanding of the information and then using the understanding to improve a system or process.
The task of the sensemaker is to convert experiences to something meaningful. Situations experienced by people are progressively clarified, and this clarification emerges when people in retrospect bring the pieces together to create a shared understanding of the situation

Gaining a shared understanding of a socio technical system though the sense making process leads to systems that are more acceptable to end users and deliver better value to stakeholders.
