Spontaneous breathing

- Bilateral and unilateral chest rise and fall
Sounds
- Lung sound speakers (place stethoscope more lateral than expected)
- Normal and abnormal breath sounds
- Unilateral breath sounds with airway complications e.g. pneumothorax
Procedures able to be performed by learner
- Pneumothorax decompression - left side chest wall (22 or smaller gauge needle)
Warning: Do not provide artificial respiration to the patient simulator using oxygen enriched air or flammable gases.
