Airway functionality and features

The following skills and procedures can be performed

  • Bag-mask ventilation (mask size 0/1 recommended)
  • NPA/OPA airway adjuncts insertion
  • Endotracheal Tube intubation (Size 3.0 micro cuff/Size 3.5 uncuffed)
  • Laryngeal mask insertion (Size 1 is recommended)

Patient simulated features may be activated

  • Variable lung resistance
  • Cyanosis

The following Patient Simulator features indicate incorrect tube placement

  • Right main stem intubation – unilateral chest rise
  • Oesophageal intubation - stomach distention
LMA insertion
