Functionality and features
The following skills and procedures can be performed by a learner
- Head tilt/Chin lift
- Jaw thrust w/articulated jaw
- Cricoid pressure and manipulation
- Bag-mask ventilation
- Warning: Do not provide artificial respiration to the patient simulator using oxygen enriched air or flammable gases.
- Laryngeal mask insertion (size #2.5)
- Endotracheal tube intubation (Size ID 4.5 mm cuffed and 5.5 mm uncuffed is recommended)
- Nasotracheal intubation
Vocal sounds include coughing, moaning, screaming and spoken words. These can be heard from the head speaker in the manikin.
Patient Simulated features may be activated to present
- Tongue oedema (normal, medium and maximum)
- Foreign body airway obstruction
The following Patient Simulator features indicate incorrect tube placement
- Right main stem intubation – unilateral chest rise
- Oesophageal intubation - Stomach distention
