What is Data and Application custodianship?
An information asset is an identifiable collection of data stored in any manner and recognised as having value for the purpose of enabling an agency to perform its business functions, thereby satisfying a recognised agency requirement.
For Queensland Health, Data and Applications are key information assets that need to be effectively managed and have been identified as priority areas requiring clear accountability. Data and Application custodianship includes the appropriate assignment of roles and responsibilities to delegated positions to ensure that Queensland Health Data and Applications are appropriately managed throughout their lifecycle.
