Evaluation
Evaluation is a key component in the delivery of any training or educational experience. The aim of evaluation is to collect and analyse information from feedback and outcomes achieved, to continuously improve how the course is delivered and managed. All feedback, whether received by forms or informal discussions, should be documented so it can be evaluated both short- and long-term.
Feedback
Feedback from participants is the most traditional form of evaluation.
This can be gathered by evaluation forms or discussions. When developing a feedback template, ensure you consider a wide range of areas for participants to provide feedback on.
Feedback from employers can often be overlooked, but their feedback is essential in determining whether the skills developed in the course have been transferred to the workplace.
Feedback from employers can be gathered by evaluation forms, meetings, or phone discussions. It may be beneficial to gather this feedback a number of months after the course, allowing the employer to evaluate the effectiveness of the training over a long period.
