USGPIVC – Online

Welcome to the online learning component of the ultrasound guided peripheral intravenous cannulation course (USGPIVC-O)

This online learning is part of a blended course to develop knowledge and skills in USGPIVC. The online learning covers the underpinning theory including an introduction to ultrasound and the machine, vascular device selection and decision making, the aseptic approach and insertion techniques. The face-to-face workshop, which follows, is aimed at developing the practical skill needed to be successful in performing USGPIVC in the workplace.

Participants should be competent with traditional (non-ultrasound) peripheral intravenous cannulation before attempting USGPIVC as many of the concepts and skills are transferrable.

Participants MUST successfully complete the online learning prior to attending the face-to-face workshop.
